Leadership

Materials Presentation

Gregg Donaldson reveals effective and ineffective ways to present this material.

Here is a 'primer' on how I unpack the six lessons of each book. These three ways to present the material have been called the "not very effective way of teaching the material, the more effective way, and the most effective way."

When I first present the material to pastors and/or church leaders I unpack a book (six sessions) in one training event (which takes about 5 - 6 contact hours). This could be 3 hours one night and three the next morning or could be a full day. Of the six sessions, I will only be able to utilize three for 'unpacking' as there will not be time to give attention to all six. I choose the three that best suit me and my current audience. Here is how I would present at a one day session.

Biblical Concept?

Is Leadership Development a Biblical Concept?

The first question is answered in the creation account of man:

“Then God said, ‘Let Us make every man in Our image, and in Our likeness; let them rule over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. ’” (Genesis 1:26)

Please reread Genesis 1: 26 and following. You will quickly discover that we were born to lead(!), to have authority, to “rule,” and to take dominion. That is how God has wired us. Let’s look at this a little deeper.
